Xiaomi is going to hold a live stream event on 13 February to unwrap the Xiaomi Mi 10 series, which include Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Both the smartphones will share identical front design and could share the same rear design. The major difference between the two smartphones will be an additional camera on the Pro variant. However, the company now shared some of the key details of the Mi 10 series ahead of the launch.
Previously the company revealed information like camera abilities and VC Liquid cooling system. But now the Xiaomi shared some new posters which reveal information regarding the display, battery, and charging of the Mi 10 series.
The Mi 10 will have a 6.67-inches custom-made AMOLED screen with impressive curved edges, which will offer a contrast ratio of 5000000:1. There is a punch-hole at the top left corner of the screen for the front camera. As per the company posters, the smartphone claims a peak brightness of 1120nits, which can reach up to 4,096 levels of Automatic brightness adjustments.
The company also claims that JNCD (Just Noticeable Color Difference) and Delta E values of the custom-made screen will be of leading industry level. The Mi 10 display will have a professional-grade of color accuracy. As per the posters, JNCD is <0.55 value on Mi 10, which is better than the iPhone 11 Pro Max display. Whereas, the Delta E value is 1.11, again better than other flagship smartphones.
Moreover, the display of Mi 10 will support the 90Hz refresh rate along with 180Hz high frame rate sampling. The display will support HDR10+ with DCI-P3 color gamut for the better viewing angles under sunlight. For the harmful blue rays, the devices will have TUV Rheinland certified screen. The screen of the Mi 10 Pro will have an in-display fingerprint sensor, while in Mi 10 it is mentioned, but may have the same like Mi 10 Pro.
In camera, Mi 10 series will have a quad-camera setup, which will have a 108MP primary camera with aperture f1/1.33 followed by Ultra wide-angle lens, a Telephoto lens, and a Macro lens. The rear camera will have OIS and EIS for the stable capturing.
Apart from the 108MP camera, the Mi 10 will be able to shoot an 8K video recording and HEIF format recocording and image format based on the HEVC encoder but with 50-percent less space in comparison to JPEG. The Mi 10 will also have 10X hybrid optical zoom and 50X digital zoom. Moreover, it will support slo-mo selfie and able to shoot in a 2.35:1 movie format.
In terms of battery, we earlier heard of 66W fast charging support, but Chang Cheng, Xiaomi Vice President, said that the company examine a lot of combinations of charging speed and battery capacity, which includes 4,850mAh battery with 18W fast charging, 4,700mAh battery with 30W charging, 4,500mAh battery with 50W charging and lastly 4,050mAh battery with 65W charging.
Lastly, the company came to a final conclusion to 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast charging, which the company claims the best choice for the Mi 10 considering factors like thickness of the device and the wattage. More wattage will force the company to reduce battery capacity.
According to the company, Mi 10 charging is faster than other competitor companies, whether it is wired or wireless or reverse charging. The Mi 10 will have 30W wireless fast charging and 10W reverse charging support.
Mi 10 series powered by Snapdragon 865 processor will be announced tomorrow via an online event at 2 PM (CST). However, we expect that the company will reveal more information on the upcoming Mi 10 series.
