With the growing 5G networking, we can now easily download a large file and can stream 4K videos, but have to cost the memory of the smartphones. For this, smartphone companies provide huge internal storage, but with time, we need more memory space. Moreover, the majority of high-end smartphones now didn’t come with a dedicated memory slot. However, as per a report, Xiaomi patents a two in one 5G SIM card, which may soon change the entire scenario.
According to the patent, Xiaomi is working on developing a 5G SIM card that will serve both networking and storage functions. This technology is not at all new and was first seen in 2019 from a different company.
The patent above is quite similar to the 5G Super SIM, which was first introduced by Zinguang in 2019.
According to the patent, it seems like a memory card, which also has a SIM card functionality for 5G network. The patent reveals a memory card on the front and SIM card on the back. Still, we don’t yet know whether Xiaomi will bring this patent to the market or not.
In general, this is the smartest solution for the additional memory storage on any device, and the implications of this could be huge in the smartphone industry.
