Last year, Microsoft launched its new CLI (command line interface) app for Windows 10 know as Windows Terminal. Since then, the company has been updating the app with new improvements and features such as panes for multiple terminal windows, custom tab titles, accessibility features, etc. from time to time.
Now, the company pushes another new update, which introduces retro-style CRT effects. Along with it, Microsoft has also added some new functionalities to the Windows Terminal that includes the ability to search for commands and tab resizing to fit into view.
Besides, the update also comes with custom key bindings to open specific profiles and single settings for all terminal profiles. After updating to latest version, you will able to split the view and can open multiple command prompts in the terminal side-by-side.
However, the update is a test version with all these features and is limited to only Microsoft employees. It will release the Windows Terminal version 0.8 for everyone on January 14. For more details on this you can visit the Microsoft Terminal profile at GitHub.
