Highlights of this contact lens

  • This lens can zoom on your command.
  • Lens Controlled by Electrooculographic Signal.

It is the stuff of science fiction: a contact lens that zooms on your command.

University of California San Diego researchers have gone ahead and made it a truth. They’ve produced a contact lens, managed by eye motions, that can focus if you blink two times.

How is this possible? In the easiest of terms, the researchers determined the electrooculographic signals created when eyes make particular motions (up, down, left, right, blink, double blink) and produced a soft biomimetic lens that reacts straight to those electrical impulses. The contact lens produced could alter its focal length depending upon the signals provided.

The contact lens might zoom in the blink of an eye.

Exceptionally, the lens works no matter whether the user can see or not. It’s not about the sight, and it’s about the electrical energy produced by particular motions.

Why develop this? Why the hell not. The scientists think this development might be utilized in “visual prostheses, adjustable glasses, and from another location ran robotics in the future,” however I’m waiting on them to show up on CSI Miami. Could you picture the criminal offenses Ice-T could resolve using these things?
