Samsung is reported to be working on a new technology that will work as an alternative for manual typing! Yes, you heard it right. This feature by the company will be called ‘Selfie type,’ and it involves the processing of motions captured by the front-facing camera also with the AI algorithms.
This feature comes under the C-Lab incubation program of the company, and they had announced the upcoming launch for its various projects that come under the C-Lab incubation program at the Consumer Electronics Show 2020.
Talking about the Selfie Type feature in brief, with the help of your front camera and algorithms, the device will track the movement of your fingers and let it control the keyboard. In simple words, you will be swinging your fingers in different directions for typing the text instead of pressing the screen.
The major thing about this feature is that it does not need any specific hardware, and it can be used in smartphones, tablets, and laptops easily. The only thing that needs to be up and going hard is Artificial Intelligence or the A.I. of the device. As the motion tracking is solely based on the AI algorithms and the front-facing camera and if the AI on the device is not up to the mark, it may lead to miscommunication between the user and device while typing.
Previously in our article, we have informed that Samsung might also announce the launch of its new bezel-less Television along with the projects under the C-Lab incubation program. It looks like the only answer to this is to wait for the Consumer Electronics Show 2020.
