Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ with 120Hz display starting at $649


Samsung, in its Galaxy unpacked 2020 event, has launched the Galaxy Tab S7 series along with Galaxy Note 20 series. The Galaxy Tab S7 series includes Tab S7 and Tab S7+.

Galaxy Tab S7+

The Galaxy Tab S7 has an exquisite design with aluminum textures by polycrystalline diamonds, including a micro-sand blasted soft finish. The thickness of the device is 5.7mm and weighs around 575 grams. According to Samsung S7+ is the slimmest tab of its size in the market.

The Galaxy Tab S7+ features a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2800 x 1752 pixels. The display has NTSC color range, Eyecare certification, and supports HDR10+. The display is also incorporated with a fingerprint scanner.

The Tab S7+ is powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful Snapdragon 865+ processor under the hood. Compared with Galaxy Tab S6, the Tab S7+ has 25% faster core performance, 36% faster graphics performance, and 77% faster neural processor.

The processor is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. There is also an option for expandable storage up to 1TB.

In terms of optics, the Tab S7+ has a rear dual-camera setup, which includes a 5M ultra-wide camera with F2.2, and a 13MP wide-angle camera with F2.0. The rear camera is capable of recording a 4K video at 30fps. In the front, there is an 8MP shooter.

The Tab S7+ comes with an Ultra-low latency S Pen. The S Pen comes with the biggest leap in responsiveness, which offers a true writing experience with a complete makeover and has a dedicated place at the back of the Tab to attach magnetically. With the 120Hz display, the now able to reduce the latency of S Pen to 9ms.

The Tab S7 comes with a Free 6 months subscription of Clip Studio Paint Ex and 30 days free subscription of Canva(may vary by country and region), in which you can use the S Pen to illustrate and create your art and design like pros.

For the proper utilization of S Pen, the Tab S7 comes with Samsung Notes, in which you can import PDF files to comment, sign documents, mark up, and more. You can also export to Microsoft Word or Powerpoint to share with others. To know more about Samsung Note, Click Here.

To get a PC-like experience, the Tab S7 series can be equipped with a Book Cover Keyboard, but have to purchase it separately. The Book Cover Keyboard will give an effortless angle of 165-degree for your work and study.

The Book Cover Keyboard comes with a large trackpad and instinctive function keys aligned with Samsung Windows PC, Android-specific keys, and Samsung Dex keys.

In terms of Audio, the Tab S7+ has quad-speaker sound by AKG and Dolby Atmos.

The Tab S7+ has the biggest battery of 10,090mAh with 45W super-fast charging support via USB C port. The company claims that the battery can last up to 14 hours of video playback.

The tablet will run on One UI base on Android 10 out of the box and supports Samsung Dex if you want to use it as a laptop.

Galaxy Tab S7

The Tab S7 includes the same specs as Tab S7+ except for a smaller display of 11-inch LTPS LCD with a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. The display has a DCI-P3 color range and has low Blue Light certification. As the Tab S7 has a LCD display, the fingerprint scanner is on the side.

The Tab S7 comes with a slightly less battery of 8,000mAh with 45W super-fast charging.

Price and Availability

The Samsung Tab S7 price starts at $649.99 for the base version and $849.99 for the Tab S7+ base version.

Available colors are Mystic Black, Mystic Silver, Mystic Bronze.

The Tab S7 and S7+ will be made available in the US starting this fall.
