Samsung introduces its new Galaxy Book Flex and Ion with QLED display

Samsung recently has announced its two new laptops, the Galaxy Book Ion and Galaxy Book Flex, at Samsung Developer Conference (SDC). Both laptops feature a QLED display, which is also the world’s first on a laptop. The Galaxy Book Flex is a 2-in-1 convertible with a hinge that rotates 360 degrees, whereas the Galaxy Book Ion is a traditional laptop. According to the display size, the devices come with 3 and 15-inch screen size options.

The OLED display has a maximum 600-nits brightness capacity, which makes them suitable for outdoor, and even under bright sunlight, every detail can be seen clearly. The company claims that both the device’s displays are power-conserving with long-lasting batteries.

The most exciting inclusion in the device is the company’s Wireless PowerShare technology. With it, users can charge their Qi-compatible smartphones, Galaxy Buds, or wearables with the touchpad.

Both the laptops went through Intel’s Project Athena program and are verified. The devices come with Intel 10th Gen Core Processors. The Galaxy Book Flex will be powered by 10nm Ice Lake chips while the Galaxy Book Ion by 14nm Comet Lake chips. Samsung didn’t mention the exact processor spec of the devices. The 10th Gen Intel Processors also enable instant-on and improved connected standby, which means the laptops don’t go into hibernation, so when the lid is opened, it wakes up instantly.
