Finally, people can utilize the IR beam of ToF sensor in a Samsung phone for face unlocks, which depends on the reflection time like an iPhone. Galaxy S10 5G 3D face unlock feature has incorporated new phenomena called ToF sensor mechanism.

About the Galaxy S10 5G 3D face unlock

ToF sensor uses an IR beam to outline face in 3D, utilizing the time it takes for the light to be reflected. That means the object or part which is closer to the camera will have shorter ‘time of flight’. This feature will be able to distinguish even minute details like wrinkles, marks to facilitate more secured unlock experience than a face unlock using a 2D standard front camera. Also, Galaxy S10 5G 3D face unlock would provide real-time face scanning using both front and back cameras.

Samsung is well known for its innovations to provide a pleasant experience to its valuable customers. Now, of course, the new galaxy S10 5G phone is the most feature-packed and more expensive than its old S10 series. And it is the only phone having a feature of 3D scanning using the ToF sensor among all Samsung’s series.

Since Galaxy S10 5G 3D face unlock is a software upgrade feature, it needs to have the One UI 2.0 on the phone to work. Samsung is currently beta testing the release in its home company Korea.

Hopefully, it will roll out the same in other regions soon. Korea is using the same featured phone since 5th April 2019. Most probably in December, Samsung will launch its new Galaxy S10 5G with an advanced 3d mapping feature in India.

Samsung Senior Director of product marketing released a statement to CNET that the phone may be a $100 more than the most premium Samsung series galaxy S10+, but didn’t reveal much about the new release. Whatever feature is added to the new Galaxy S10, it will be a step up from the previous one. People can experience better security advances and a bunch of new features with the fastest network 5G.
