Samsung Galaxy Book Flex Alpha with exquisite design at a low price

Last year, Samsung announced a new pair of laptops Galaxy Book Ion and Galaxy Book Flex, to replace Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 models. Now, ahead of CES, the company has introduced Galaxy Book Flex Alpha (α) to bring some high-end features like immersive QLED display with a long-lasting battery and exquisite design at a low price.

Samsung Galaxy Book Flex Alpha

The new Galaxy Book Flex Alpha features a 13.3-inch rotating 1080p QLED display with modern design. In comparison with the Galaxy Book laptops, it has sharp corners and smaller bezels. The display boasts 100 percent color volume for “vibrant picture in any lighting,” and doesn’t come with an S Pen though it supports active styli. The laptop comes in Royal Silver color.

For performance, it is powered by 10th generation Intel Core processor along with Intel UHD Graphics. For RAM, it has two options 8GB and 12GB DDR4 with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of solid-state storage. To power the whole device, it has a 54Wh battery, which offers a battery life of 17.5 hours on a single charge with USB-C fast charging support.

For connectivity, Galaxy Book Flex alpha comes with one USB Type-C port, 2 USB Type-A 3.0 ports, a combo 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI, and a micro S.D. card slot. However, because of the lower price point, the device misses out some options such as Qi wireless charging pad or an S Pen slot and the Thunderbolt 3. The Flex Alpha doesn’t come with AKG speakers; instead, it has two 1.5W stereo speakers.

The company expects Galaxy Book Flex Alpha will be available in the U.S. in the first half of the year at a start price of $829.99. However, it’s not clear how much it will be cheaper in comparison with the original lineup as the company didn’t provide any details about it.
