For durability, it has military-standard certification (MIL-STD-810G rating), and IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. It also comes with an IP68 certified S pen, which can be used on a wet display. Moreover, the tablet provides settings for the touchscreen that can be used while wearing work gloves.
The Galaxy Tab Active Pro features a 10.1-inch display, which is the largest for the company’s ruggedized B2B lineup. It is the company’s first flagship ruggedized tablet model to support DeX5 (desktop experience), which means you can connect an external display or can be used as a PC by connecting a keyboard to it.
The Tab Active Pro is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card. It comes with a replaceable fast-charging 7,600mAh battery that will last for up to 15 hours. The back panel of the tablet can also be removed for inserting a fully charged battery if the battery is drained out, and there is no time to charge it on the spot. The tablet will be running on Android pie.
The company also provided a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, an 8-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack, USB 3.1 type C port for charging, and POGO pins for connecting third-party accessories geared towards the industry.
The tablet has a built-in NFC chip making it mPOS ready to scan bar codes for secure payments or manage inventory and Google AR Core, which enables augmented reality combining the real world with the virtual environment.
