Redmi K30 may feature 120Hz display, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and IMX686 image sensor.

On 19 November, Xiaomi CEO makes a formal statement that Redmi K30 with 5G dual-mode will be official in December. Apart from the announcement, nothing else about the specification has been discussed at the event. However, we got a new report about the specs of the device.

The new report comes from XDA-Developers. According to them, Xiaomi’s upcoming device codenamed “Phoenix” will feature 120Hz display, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and Sony IMX686 image sensor. The information is extracted from the recent MIUI 11 nightly builds. XDA also clarifies that there is no guarantee that all these features will be there in Redmi K30 but will definitely feature in the Xiaomi device codenamed “Phoenix.”

Now coming to more details of these mentioned features.

Side-mounted Fingerprint Scanner

Redmi K30 may feature Side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

According to XDA, in recent MIUI 11, a new method “isBroadSideFingerprint” has been found in device codenamed “Phoenix,” which indicates a fingerprint scanner on the right edge of the device.

120Hz Refresh Rate Display

According to the previous month’s report, where we have heard that Xiaomi is attempting to improve its displays by incorporating the 120Hz refresh rate display. However, As per XDA, they have found a new method “isSupportHighFrameRate” in the recent MIUI 11 for the Xiaomi device codenamed “Phoenix,” which will allow you to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz.

Sony IMX686 Image Sensor

Sony just teased its new IMX686 image sensor in the initials of this month. We just got an idea about the new image sensor by Sony from the teased video. Sony shared no such detailed information about the new sensor other than it is supposed to be a 60MP image sensor.

XDA found proof from a Qualcomm camera library, which includes the following strings: “phoenix_imx686,” “phoenix_s5k3t2,” “phoenix_gc02m1_depth,” and “phoenix_gc02m1_front.” This string is found for the Xiaomi device codenamed “Phoenix.”

So, we advise you not to conclude anything right now as all these features are found in MIUI 11 under codenamed “Phoenix.” and there is no confirmation yet that Redmi K30 is the device for the codename.

We have to wait for a few more days to know the exact details as December is coming nearer.
