Today, there is a Developer Conference of Xiaomi held in Beijing, China. Lei Jun, Xiaomi Chairman, and CEO discussed at the event about the company’s advancement towards introducing 5G smartphones in China. Moreover, he also makes a formal statement about the official launch of Redmi K30 with dual-mode 5G support in December.
But according to the recent report, Xiaomi General Manager has already mentioned that Redmi K30 will launch in 2020, which indicates that the Redmi K30 will debut in the next month, and the Redmi K30 Pro version may appear next year.
At the Xaiomi Developers Conference, Lei Jun also mentioned that they would deploy at least 10 5G smartphones next year. In the first half of the coming year, Xiaomi will introduce affordable 5G smartphones.
About Redmi K30
Redmi K30 will be the very first smartphone of Xiaomi with a dual punch-hole display and also the company’s first to support SA and NSA dual-mode 5G.
We also like to share an alleged photo of Redmi K30 exposed by Xiaomishka. In the photo, we can see that the phone has an enlarged earpiece segment and the dual-camera at the top right of the display.
The phone is expected to launch with a MediaTek 5G processor, but after Qualcomm had announced the first Snapdragon 7-series dual-mode 5G Soc via Weibo, sub-brand Redmi reposted it and stated that 5G Pioneer Redmi would launch its first batch products with it. This indicates that Redmi K30 5G could be featured with the rumored Snapdragon 735 5G processor.
At today’s event, no specifications have been revealed. So we have to wait for a couple of weeks as Lei Jun mentioned that the Redmi K30 will be official in December.
