Besides Realme announced its first MediaTek Helio G35 powered smartphone today, Xiaomi has introduced its-own Helio G35 powered smartphone, Redmi 9C, along with Helio G25 powered Redmi 9A in Malaysia.
Besides the entry-level gaming chipset from MediaTek, let see what the devices from Xiaomi have to offer us.
Redmi 9C: Specs and Features
The Redmi 9C features a 6.53-inches HD+ IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 1600×720 pixel resolution. The display has a waterdrop notch, which includes a 5MP shooter for the selfie camera.
At the back, there is s triple-camera setup within a square-shaped module with a considerable bump at the top left corner. The camera setup includes a 13MP primary sensor, a 5MP Ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is also a fingerprint sensor at the back aligned at the top center.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the latest MediaTek’s Helio G35 chipset paired with 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. The phone also supports expandable storage via a dedicated onboard microSD card slot up to 512GB.
The phone packs a massive 5,000mAh battery and supports USB Type-C charging. Other features are 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz WiFi support, and an IR blaster.
Redmi 9A: Specs and Features
The Redmi 9A looks similar to the Redmi 8A, the predecessor. The Redmi 9A has the same stripe running along with the camera but positioned at the edge instead of the center. Besides this, the Redmi 9A is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G25, whereas the Redmi 8A has the Snapdragon 400-series chipset. The chipset is paired with 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. Just like the Redmi 9C, it also supports expandable memory up to 512GB via dedicated microSD card slot on board.
The phone features a 6.53-inches HD+ IPS display with the same aspect ratio, pixel resolution, and the 5MP selfie shooter as the Redmi 9C.
Unlikely, the Redmi 9A has a single rear camera of 13MP at the back with a LED flash. There is no fingerprint sensor on board.
The Redmi 9A also has a 5,000mAh battery and supports USB Type-C charging. Other features are dual 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.0.
Price and Availability
The Redmi 9C price starts at 429 RM (~$100) (Rs. 7,569) and will be available for purchase in Malaysia through lazada from 7 July. Available colors of the Redmi 9C are Black, Blue, and Orange.
The Redmi 9A price starts at 359 RM (~$84) (Rs. 6,334) and will be available by the end of July. Available colors are Midnight Gray, Twilight Blue, and Peacock Green.
