After several leaked news and renders, Xiaomi officially launched the Redmi 9 in Spain today. Redmi 9 is the entry-level smartphone, which is equipped with MediaTek’s Helio G80 chipset, quad-cameras, and more.
So let’s see what the entry-level smartphone from Redmi has to offer.
Redmi 9 specifications and feature
As we know, it’s an entry-level smartphone, the body of the phone has polycarbonate build. Instead of the square cutout camera design, the Redmi 9 has a circular camera design like the Redmi K30. The rear camera module includes a fingerprint sensor.
In the front, the phone features a 6.53-inches FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch, which includes an 8MP selfie camera. The display has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, 2340×1080 pixel resolution, up to 400nits of brightness, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
In terms of internals, the phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G90 game-centric chipset, which is paired with up to 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.
In terms of optics, the Redmi 9 includes a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP Ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and 118-degree FOV, a 5MP Macro lens with 4cm distance focus, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The phone packs a huge 5,020 mAh battery with 10W Charger in the box and supports 18W fast-charging. Some of the other features are USB Type-C, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, 2.4G Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, wireless FM, and NFC.
The phone will run on MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box.
Price and Availability
The Redmi 9 comes in two variants:
- 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage- 149 Euros (~$169 approx) (Rs. 12,786 approx)
- 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage- 179 Euros (~$203 approx) (Rs. 15,361 approx)
The phone will be available in three colors- Sunset Purple, Ocean Green, and Carbon Gray.
The sale will start on 18 June in Spain. There is no information about the Indian launch of Redmi 9 right now.
