After multiple reports surfaced online about the phone equipped with Snapdragon 865+, Qualcomm has finally announced the latest flagship processor. The Snapdragon 865+ is an upgraded version of the last year launched Snapdragon 865.
Similarly, like the Snapdragon 855 and 855+, the latest Snapdragon 865+ will deliver overclocked speed. The Snapdragon 865+ processor is based on a 7nm process and comes with Kyro 585 CPU cores with clock speed at 3.1GHz. According to the company, the Kyro 585 will boost up to 10-percent performance over the Snapdragon 865. In memory, it will support up 4x16bit LPDDR5 RAM of 2750MHz.
The latest processor comes with an Adreno 650 GPU will also deliver 10-percent fast graphics rendering, which will be helpful in intensive work hours or gaming. Moreover, the lastest processor comes with Elite Gaming features like Desktop Foward rendering, Qualcomm Game Smoother, Qualcomm Game Color Plus v2.0 with real 10-bit HDR gaming, and more.
In terms of connectivity, the Snapdragon 865+ will support 5G with the Snapdragon X55 Modem-RF system with a speed of up to 7.5Gbps. It also features the new FastConnect 6900 suite, which includes WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
In terms of display, the Snapdragon 865+ will support [email protected] 60Hz and QHD+ resolution at 144Hz. Other supported features are HDR10+, HDR10, up to the 10-bit color depth, and Rec2020 color gamut.
In terms of camera, the Snapdragon 865+ will support up to 200MP in a single camera, and up to 64MP for a single camera, Multi-Frame Noise Reduction, Zero Shutter Lag at 30Fps. It will support 960Fps slow-motion video at 720p and HEIF photo capture.
In Charging, the 865+ will support Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 technology and Qualcomm Quick Charge AI.
There is a 5th Gen Qualcomm AI Engine on the top, which is twice as powerful as its predecessor. The Qualcomm Hexagon Tensor Accelerator, on the other hand, delivers maximum battery longevity.
According to the company, the latest flagship processor will start coming out in the Q3 of 2020. Qualcomm has announced that the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 865+ will be the Asus ROG Phone 3.
