Recently, OPPO has launched its latest addition to the Reno Lineup that is the Reno3 5G and Reno3 Pro 5G. It looks like OPPO is in a hurry to further expand this lineup as the Reno3 series is only a few months old! Unlike the previous smartphones of the Reno lineup, the 3 series will have 5G support, a much better form-factor, lightweight, and build quality.
The Reno3 series was launched at an event in China by the Chinese consumer electronics and mobile communications company, and these phones are their latest 5G smartphones. Let’s take a look at what does this new series of the Reno lineup has to offer?
OPPO Reno3 5G
Firstly talking about the standard model, the Reno3 5G will be featuring a Flat Full HD+ display with a size of 6.4-inches. Talking about the processor, the phone runs the Dimensity 1000L SOC, which is MediaTek’s latest flagship processor. It has a Mediatek M70 5G modem inbuilt that gives the phone enhanced 5G capabilities. Based on the 7nm process, Dimensity 1000 is an octa-core processor that has 4 Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz, and the other 4 are Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz.
Going towards the camera, the Reno3 5G has a waterdrop notch for the front camera which is a 32 Megapixel sensor, and on the rear, it has a quad-camera setup comprising of a primary 64 Megapixel sensor, an 8 Megapixel for ultra-wide angle shots, a 2 Megapixel black and white sensor, and a 2 Megapixel for close-up macro shots.
Talking about backup, the Reno3 5G has a 4,500 mAh of battery that supports VOOC Flash Charge 4.0, and other than that, the phone also has support for Bluetooth 5.0, Dolby atmos speaker, NFC, and Game Boost 2.0.
Reno3 5G Price and Availability
The Reno3 variant that has 8 gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of internal storage has a starting price of 3399 yuan or roughly $486 while the higher 12 gig RAM and 256 gig storage goes up to 3699 yuan or approximately $528.
The Reno3 will be coming in Misty White, Moon Night Black, Sunrise Impression, and Blue Starry Night.
OPPO Reno3 Pro 5G
Moving over to the higher-end version of the new Reno3 series, the Reno3 Pro features a very vibrant AMOLED display with a size of 6.5-inches, and unlike the standard Reno3 model, the Pro has a curved display on both sides. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SOC, which is based on Samsung 7nm EUV process.
It is an octa-core processor with the Adreno 620 GPU and Snapdragon X52 Integrated modem for 5G data connectivity. With the integrated modem, the device has a maximum of 3.7 Gbps download speed, and 1.6 Gbps upload speed.
Talking about the camera, the Reno3 Pro has a 32 Megapixel front-facing camera for selfies, and the camera is positioned at the top-left corner of the screen. On the rear side, it has a quad-camera setup comprising of a primary 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, a 13 Megapixel telephoto for 5x optical zoom shots, an 8 Megapixel sensor for ultra-wide angle shots, and a 2 Megapixel black and white sensor.
The Pro version also has many cool features like a three-dimensional cooling system which includes a graphite sheet that helps in controlling the thermals and maintaining an optimal temperature of the device, and for better 5G connectivity, OPPO has created an antenna design that gives the device a 360-degree passage for changing various antenna groups which will prevent your data speeds from going down.
Talking about the backup, the Reno3 pro packs a 4025 mAh battery that has support for VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging, and other than that, the phone also has support for Bluetooth 5.0, Dolby atmos speaker, NFC, and Game Boost 2.0 just like the standard model.
Reno3 Pro 5G Price and Availability
The Reno3 Pro’s variant that has 8 gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of internal storage has a starting price of 3999 yuan or roughly $571 while the higher variant that has 12 gigs of RAM and 256 gigs of internal storage goes up to 4499 yuan or approximately $693.
The Reno3 Pro 5G will go on sale from December 31 for the 8 gig RAM model and January 10 for the 12 gig RAM Model.
Apart from the other colors i.e. Misty White, Moon Night Black, Sunrise Impression, and Blue Starry Night, the Pro version will also have a special Classic Blue edition, which will cost around $600.
