Recently, Oppo confirmed the launch of its new flagship smartphone, Oppo Ace 2, in its home country China on April 13th. Brian Shen, the Vice President of Oppo, has confirmed the rumors going all over the internet regarding the launch date of the Oppo Ace 2. But now ahead of its launch, Oppo has revealed a teaser poster, reflecting the upcoming smartphone’s design on Chinese Social Media Weibo.
The teaser poster also says that the Oppo Ace 2 will feature the rumored Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor along with a quad-camera setup placed in a circular module, also known as “Oreo” camera design. On the right side of the smartphone, we have the power unlock button, while on the left side, we have the volume rockers.
The Oppo Ace 2 smartphone was recently spotted on the Antutu benchmark website, where it scored 180,132 points in the CPU test, 210,371 in the GPU test, 89,927 in the memory test and 79,787 in the UX test. The average benchmarking score of the smartphone was 560,217 points on Antutu.
Although, the Antutu listing shows a warning that the smartphone may have been rooted, resulting in changed system parameters, leading to a false score.
Oppo Ace 2 Specifications (Rumored)
The Oppo Ace 2 comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner of the smartphone. It comes with protection from the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and Gorilla Glass 5 on the rear panel. The display of the Oppo Ace 2 supports HDR10 and a 120Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint scanner on this one is an in-display fingerprint scanner.
As for the camera, the Oppo Ace 2 features a single 16-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0, placed in a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner of the smartphone. Meanwhile, the rear is a quad-camera setup placed in a circular module including, a primary 48MP omnidirectional PDAF lens with an aperture of f/1.7, an 8MP ultrawide lens with an aperture of f/2.2, a 2MP Macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor.
Talking about the internals, the Oppo Ace 2 comes with a 7nm+ Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 585) coupled with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. The battery on this one is a 4,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, also referred to as SuperVOOC 2.0. You also get the fast wireless charging at up to 40W.
The Oppo Ace 2 will run on the Android version 10.0 with the ColorOS 7 UI out of the box.
Price and Availability
The OPPO Ace 2 smartphone price is expected to be Rs 39,990 ($527.22). For further details, we will have to wait for the official launch of the smartphone, which will commence on April 13. Till then, take this information as a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more updates.
