OnePlus recently confirmed the launch date of the upcoming OnePlus 8 series, which is on 14 April in an online event due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Ahead of the launch, the company revealed some of the key features of the upcoming OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones. However, now Pete Lau, OnePlus founder, and CEO, shared the improvements in the OnePlus 8 smartphones in the company’s official forum.
Pete Lau, confirms that the upcoming OnePlus 8 series will be powered by Snapdragon 865 processor, which claims to offer 25-percent more CPU and GPU performance along with 25-percent less power usage.
Moreover, the processor will also offer a 16-percent less power consumption while shooting videos and a 40-percent increase in video noise pixel processing power. The AI performance is twice as fast as its precursor due to the Hexagon 698 DSP, which delivers 35-percent better power efficiency.
In terms of memory, the device will be packed with LPDDR5 RAM for the first time, which will offer a blazing 6,400Mbps at bandwidth as high as 51.2GB/s. and 45-percent less power consumption compared with the previous gen.
The OnePlus 8 series will have the latest UFS3.0 flash storage, which is able to raise the read and write speeds to about 1,700MB/s. For the further performance boost, the company introduced Turbo Write and Host Performance Booster.
The company already confirmed a 120Hz refreshed rate display and support for 5G communication technology.
Apart from the hardware component OnePlus also focuses on software optimization in order to deliver Fast, Smooth, and Efficient performance to its upcoming OnePlus 8 series.
