Nvidia has finally announced its much-awaited GeForce RTX 30 series lineup today. The new GPUs comes powered by the Ampere architecture technology, which the company revealed earlier this year. Moreover, the lineup consists of new powerful RTX GPUs: GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and RTX 3070. Let’s talk about what we get in the new GeForce RTX 30 lineup without further ado.
First, let’s start with the main highlight of the lineup, the RTX 3090. This first graphic card from Nvidia allows you to play games at 8K resolution and 60 frames per second. It features 69 RT-TFLOPS for ray tracing, 36 Shader-TFLOPS, and 285 Tensor-TFLOPS for AI-related tasks like DLSS (deep learning super-sampling). Not only that but, it also comes with 24GB of all-new GDDR6X memory, which Nvidia claims is the fastest. Additionally, it is 50% faster than the Titan RTX GPU, which is impressive. Nvidia is calling the RTX 3090 the BFGPU (Big Ferocious GPU).
Second, let’s talk about RTX 3080. This graphic card from Nvidia is the critical item from the lineup. It comes with 58 RT-TFLOPS, 30 Shader-TFLOPS, and 238 Tensor-TFLOPS. It also features the new GDDR6X memory, but it sits at 10GB. According to Nvidia, it promises double performance compared to the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti.
And finally, let’s talk about the last card that got announced today, the RTX 3070. It is a powerful graphic card from Nvidia that comes with 40 RT-FLOPS, 20 Shader-TFLOPS, and 163 Tensor-FLOPS. It features a slower 8GB GDDR6X memory, but it outruns an RTX 2080Ti easily. Also, it’s cheaper than RTX 3080 and RTX 3090.
Other announcements from Nvidia included new three technologies for gamers:
- Nvidia Reflex – It is a new chain of technologies from Nvidia that helps in optimizing latency. The new Nvidia Reflex Low-Latency Mode can reduce latency by up to 50%. Moreover, Nvidia is currently integrating this tech into the latest esports games like Valorant, COD: Warzone, Apex Legends, and Fortnite.
- Nvidia Broadcast – It is a universal plugin from Nvidia that helps streamers by enhancing the quality of webcams and mic with RTX-accelerated effects, which includes audio noise removal, virtual background, etc.
- Nvidia Omniverse Machinima – This tool from Nvidia aims at video game storytelling. With this tool, users can take assets from supported games and use their webcam to add physics and animation and to create characters. Users can also publish their cinematics.
