Quake II RTX was the last game with ray-traced graphics. However, the GPU maker Nvidia is not waiting for the developers to apply ray tracing technology in their games. The company is kicking off an “exciting new game remastering program” to bring classic games with ray tracing technology.
We’re cherry-picking some of the greatest titles from the past decades and bringing them into the ray tracing age. Thus, we’ll be giving them state-of-the-art visuals while keeping the gameplay that made them great. The NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios team is picking up the challenge starting with a title that you know and love but we can’t talk about here
The job posting was created 17 days ago, which means this is after the release of Quake II RTX.
Nvidia Lightspeed Studios was founded in 2015, and it worked on porting PC games such as Doom 3, Half-Life 2, and Portal to the Nvidia Shield Android device. The studio also worked with Wii games such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy for Sheild Android in China.
With this, we’ll able to see more remastered classic games soon. However, there are no further details about the games in which games are going to be remastered with ray tracing technology. NVIDIA may share more information about this remaster project soon.
