Nubia Red Magic 5G Launched with 144Hz Display and 64MP Triple Camera!

The gaming-centric brand, Nubia, has finally launched the Nubia Red Magic 5G in China. It is the world’s first gaming smartphone to sport a 144Hz refresh rate. Nubia was one of the first smartphone companies to have a sub-brand dedicated to only gaming smartphones.

With this flagship smartphone, Nubia has joined the selected few phone makers like Asus ROG and Xiaomi-backed Black Shark, who are fueling growth in this segment. This is a great smartphone from Nubia that features a 144Hz display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset, 64MP triple camera setup, 55W fast charging, and much more.

Nubia Red Magic 5G Configurations

The design of the Nubia Red Magic 5G features an X-shaped pattern on the rear, with the RGB light strip now being replaced with the RGB Red Magic Logo. The smartphone features a triple camera setup at the top and the Red Magic Logo at the bottom.

Nubia Red Magic 5G Display and design

The display of the Nubia Red Magic 5G features a 6.56-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 6.9ms response time per frame. The Red Magic 5G sports an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 with a resolution of 1080x 2340 pixels and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support. The smartphone features an in-display fingerprint scanner along with something that Nubia calls Touch Choreographer Algorithm for better touch response.

As for the camera, this gaming smartphone features a triple camera setup, which includes a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. This is the first time that Nubia has opted for a multi-camera setup for one of its gaming smartphones, as all the previous smartphones from the company featured only a single camera.

As for the Internals, the Nubia Red Magic 5G comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The smartphone supports dual-mode 5G connectivity and faster WiFi-6 support. It runs on Android 10-based Red Magic OS out-of-the-box.

Nubia Red Magic 5G features

The battery on the Nubia Red Magic 5G is a 4,500mAh battery with support for 55W NeoCharge fast-charging technology on board. The in-box charger supports PPS (Programmable Power Supply) protocol, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note series. According to Nubia, it can charge up your smartphone to 56% in just 15 minutes.
