Motorola has unwrapped its new flagship smartphone series, Motorola Edge series. The Edge series includes two smartphones- The Motorola Edge+ and Motorola Edge. So let’s see what the new Edge series from Motorola has to offer.
Motorola Edge+ Features
The Motorola Edge+ has an “Endless Edge” display an interpretation of the waterfall curved display concept. There is a punch-hole on the front for the selfie camera and a quad-camera module on the rear panel. The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The dimension of the phones is 161.07 x 71.38 x 9.6mm and weighs around 203g.
The phone features a 6.7-inches FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The punch-hole on the top-left corner includes a 25MP selfie shooter.
The display of the Edge+ is curved around the sides, which packs a few software features like tap on edges to access favorite apps, lights up when a notification comes or at the time of incoming calls, and virtual button while gaming.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB internal storage (UFS3.0). Moreover, the processor comes with the X55 5G platform of delivering mmWave 5G.
In terms of optics, the Motorola Edge+ features a rear quad-camera module, which includes a 108MP primary camera sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and OIS. The primary sensor has a traditional 4 in 1 pixel binning, which can produce high-quality shots with 27MP resolution and 6K video shooting. Apart from the primary sensor, there is a 16MP Ultra-wide angle lens with FOV 117-degree that can also capture macro shots, an 8MP Telephoto lens with 3X high-res optical zoom and OIS, and the fourth one is a ToF sensor.
In terms of battery, the smartphone has a massive 5,000mAh battery with 18W wire charging and 15W wireless.
Motorola Edge Features
The base or the vanilla model is segmented for the mid-range 5G phone market. The Motorola Edge has the same design and display as the Motorola Edge+. The key difference between the Edge+ and Edge is the processor and rear camera.
Under the hood, the Motorola Edge is powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor coupled with just 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The processor has an integrated modem for 5G and supports sub-6GHz frequencies, not the mmWave.
In terms of optics, the Edge has a quad-camera module with a 64MP primary camera sensor, an 8MP Telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens with FOV 117-degree, and lastly a ToF sensor.
The Edge version carries a smaller battery of 4,500mAh with 18W wired charging. There is no wireless charging support, but as an overall, the smartphone is pretty good for the mid-rangers.
