Along with a 13-inch variant, Microsoft first time introduced the 15-inch Surface Laptop model. The Microsoft Chief Product Officer, Panos Panay mentioned that the keyboards have 1.3 mm of travel, a 19 mm pitch between keys and the subtle dish on the keys and the laptops have a 20% larger trackpad. For easier serviceability and repairability, the top of the keyboard area is removable. In short, the hardware components of the laptop can be accessible from the top instead of from the bottom. For the first, the devices have a machined aluminum finish chassis.

The company also claimed that the Intel Quad-Core 10the Gen Ice Lake powered 13.5inch variant is 3-times faster than the MacBook Air.
