Microsoft finally announces the version of Windows 10, version 20H2, the next feature update. The company releases Windows 10 20H2 Preview build 19042.330 to the Slow ring (Beta Channel). This version will be released in the form of a small enablement package on top of the current version, increasing build number by one.
Microsoft did not note any new feature, but the build 19042.330 includes fixes from update KB557957 and new Microsoft Edge based on Chromium. The 20H2 update will install as a cumulative update, which will hardly take few minutes. And the users who are on Windows 10 May 2020 update will get the update.
Moreover, from now onwards, the codename for the versions will be the same, meaning version 20H2 won’t be renamed to version 2009. However, Microsoft’s Director of Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery, John Cable, in his blog post, did mention that the consumer communication will use a friendly name like May 2020 update. He also wrote that the next version of Windows 10 will be available later this year and will provide more information as they get closer to the launch.
Insiders on the Slow ring, which will be soon known as Beta Channel, can get the update by going to the Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and choose to download and install 20H2. For more details on this visit Windows Blog.
