The Indian smartphone company, Micromax, will be coming to the Indian market sooner than we expected. As we know, we haven’t heard from the company for a while since it launched its iOne Note in October 2019. Also, there are a lot of things happening around, such as people boycotting Chinese products. So, Micromax might use this opportunity to gain some crowd as its an Indian company after all.
According to a report by TheMobileIndian, Micromax will launch its three new smartphones with MediaTek-powered chipset somewhere around in August. Also, they will be priced in India under Rs. 10,000. In terms of design and features, Micromax said that they would launch a budget-friendly modern device with premium features. They also said, “We are working hard internally, and soon we will come up with something big. Stay tuned!”.
Due to the boycott of Chinese products, the Micromax smartphones that were in stock were also completely sold out. So, Micromax could take advantage of this situation as people want Indian smartphones in place of Chinese. Furthermore, the report states that Micromax is currently in touch with various suppliers to produce necessary components for its upcoming mid-range smartphones.
Under the hood, these smartphones will feature MediaTek’s Helio G35 and Helio G25 SoC. These two chipsets are new and unannounced yet. However, since they come to G-series, we can expect decent gaming performance on these two new MediaTek chipsets. Also, the upcoming Realme C11 smartphone could feature the same Helio G35 chipset too.
In the early 2010s, Micromax was one of India’s top smartphone makers with its Canvas series smartphones and its most famous sub-brand Yu that created huge hype with its CyanogenMod. If Micromax brings something like that back, it could regain its position back on top. Until then, we can do all we can to wait for Micromax to launch these smartphones in August.
