MediaTek announces its entry-level Helio G25 and Helio G35 gaming chipsets

The Taiwanese semiconductor company MediaTek has finally announced its two new long-awaited gaming chipsets today. These new chipsets are the Helio G25 and Helio G35 chipsets that are a new addition to MediaTek’s gaming-centric G series. Both of these chipsets from MediaTek feature the HypeEngine technology, which provides users an overall decent gaming experience on a budget smartphone.

In an official blog post, the Deputy General Manager of Wireless Communications Business Unit, Dr. Yenchi Lee, said that the MediaTek Helio G25 and G35 chipsets offer smartphone users premium features that are included in our other G-series family too. Apart from that, they also provide enhanced power efficiency, optimum performance, seamless gameplay, and enhanced photography. So, now without further ado, let’s talk about the specifications of these two gaming chipsets.

Helio G25 Specifications

In terms of CPU, the Helio G25 gaming chipset comes with eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a maximum CPU frequency of 2.0GHz, based on the 12nm FinFET production process. It also supports both LPDDR3 and LPDDR4X RAM up to 6GB and up to 1600MHz coupled with eMMC 5.1 storage.

The GPU comes with the IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU with a maximum frequency of 650MHz and a maximum resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. In terms of camera, it features up to 13MP+8MP dualcamera setup coupled with a single 21MP sensor. Some other features include 1080p @ 30FPS video recording, multi-frame noise reduction, EIS, and more. For connectivity, it features dual-band WiFiGPSGLONASSBluetooth 5.0, and more.

Helio G35 Specifications

The Helio G35 gaming chipset comes with an octa-core chipset based on the 12nm FinFET production process. It also comes with Cortex-A53 cores with a maximum CPU frequency of 2.3GHz. RAM and storage support both LPDDR3 and LPDDR4X RAM up to 6GB (1600MHz) and eMMC 5.1 storage.

The GPU comes with the IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU with a maximum GPU frequency of 680MHz. It also supports the maximum display resolution of 2400×1080 pixels.

In terms of camera, this chipset offers support for dual 13MP camera or a single 25MP camera, both at up to 30fps. It also supports AI Beautification, AI Smart Photo Album, Single-Cam/Dual-Cam Bokeh, Hardware Warping Engine (EIS), and much more. As for connectivity, it also supports dual-band WiFiGPSGLONASSBluetooth 5.0, and more.
