MediaTek announced its new Helio G80 processor with HyperEngine Technology!

Recently, MediaTek has announced its new chipset by the name of Helio G80, and this processor is a slightly better version of the previous Helio G70 SoC. In comparison, the upcoming G80 processor has higher GPU and CPU frequency than the previous G70.

MediaTek announced its new Helio G80 processor with HyperEngine Technology!

Talking about the configuration of Helio G80, it is an octa-core processor comprised of two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and rest six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The chip is built on 12nm FINFET technology and is a processor suitable for mid-range devices.

Now for the GPU, the upcoming Helio G80 has a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU that is clocked at 950MHz. Talking about connectivity, the chipset supports 4G LTE, dual-sim, dual 4G voLTE support, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5.0, Radio, GPS, and many more basic amenities. For display, this chipset supports 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

Taking a look at camera compatibility, the Helio G80 can support a solo camera with a 48 Megapixel resolution or dual cameras with 16 Megapixel resolution on both. Furthermore, the processor also has support for Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Voice on Wakeup, and Rolling Shutter Compensation.

The company has said that the G80 comes a bit short when it comes to A.I. as it does not have any dedicated Artificial Intelligence accelerators. Apart from this, MediaTek has given this chip its very own HyperEngine Tech for more smooth and lag-free experience while gaming with this chip.
