New Lenovo Smart Display 7, Yoga Smart Tab, Smart Tab M8

Lenovo partnered with Google for Assistant smart displays expanding their growth for virtual assistant products. The company at IFA 2019 on September 5 unveiled Google Assistant-enabled Smart Display 7, Smart Tab M8 tablet and Yoga Smart Tab. Smart Display 7 is the part of Lenovo’s smart display line up, whereas the Smart Tab M8, as well as the Yoga Smart Tab both, run on Android. The company also announced four new Yoga laptops.

Lenovo Smart Display 7

Similar to other displays, it is designed to be placed on a flat surface such as on an office desk. Its compact and flexible design makes it blend anywhere providing Assistant visual features which users expect on smart display on a stunning 7-inch SD IPS touchscreen.

The smart display loads a dual-microphone selection, two 5-watt speakers, a passive radiator, an RGB sensing unit, and a TrueBlock camera shutter for obstructing the webcam when it’s not in use. It sports a 2-megapixel wide-angle front camera and a dual microphone array. Other features include a mute microphone button, 802.11 ac WiFi, and Bluetooth v5.0. It is powered by a MediaTek 8167S 1.5 GHz processor. It weighs around 1.5lbs and measures 155mm x 176mm x 83mm, (6.1 x 6.9 x 3.2in), making it very compact.

The Lenovo Smart Display 7 will go on sale from October starting at $129.99 USD.

Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab

According to Lenovo, it is a tablet designed with a unique kickstand that allows users to tilt, stand, hold, or hang their tablets and can function as a smart home hub. The company has bundled a no. of features into the tab including powerful dual JBL Hi-Fi speakers reinforced by smart power amplifiers optimized with Dolby Atmos, three mic array with 360-degree far-field voice recognition for using Google Assistant. It has a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS display with a 70-percent color gamut and 320 nits brightness.

It runs Android 9.0 Pie on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, with 4GB of RAM. There are 32GB and 64GB storage choices, expandable through microSD card (as much as 256GB). There are a 5-megapixel wide-angle front electronic camera and an 8-megapixel rear electronic camera on board.

For connectivity, it features WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, as well as 4G LTE and GPS/ A-GPS on the LTE variant. It’s powered by a 7,000mAh battery with onboard sensors ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and a gyroscope.

With the Google Assistant’s Ambient Mode, users can change their Yoga Smart Tab into a lovely digital picture frame, manage music and smart home devices, and can access essential updates quickly. To activate the Ambient Mode, press the release button on the Yoga kickstand when it’s idle. It will be available from this month September starting at $249.99 USD.

Lenovo Smart Tab M8

Just like the Yoga Smart Tab, it can also be used with Google Assistant Ambient Mode as a stationary smart display. It features an 8-inch HD (1280×800 pixels) IPS display, with Dolby Atmos tuned stereo speakers, powered by a quad-core MediaTek A22 SoC with 2GB of RAM,16GB/32GB storage options, and a dual-microphone array. It also has a 2-megapixel front camera with a fixed focus and a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus.

For connectivity, it includes 802.11/a/b/g/n/ac dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth v4.2 LE, 4G LTE (for the LTE variant), a 3.5mm audio jack, and a Micro-USB port. It has a battery of 5000mAh and an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. It will be available from October starting at $119.99 USD.
