Apple has been working on a low budget iPhone, which could be named as iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2, which will serve as the descendant of the iPhone SE launched in 2017.
The phone was expected to launch at an event on 31 March but get canceled due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Now, as per the report, Apple could unveil the iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2 on 15 April.
Jon Prosser, a tech analyst, revealed on Twitter the supposed launch date. As per his post, Apple yesterday held an internal meeting in order to discuss its plans in this current situation of a global health crisis due to Coronavirus.
As per Jon, the phone will be announced on 15 April, and shipment will be made from 22 April onwards.
Prosser states the dates stay tentative, however, provided current pandemic that’s triggering hold-ups to production work and sending out staff members house to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Spec-wise, the iPhone 9 is thought to be sporting a 4.7-inch display and will be most likely comparable to the iPhone 8 in regards to style, however, with updated internals.
In terms of internals, the iPhone 9 or iPhone Se 2 is expected to be powered by A13 chipset same used in iPhone 11 series.
The pricing of the upcoming iPhone could start at $399. However, to know the device details and the cost, we will have to wait for a couple of weeks more for the official announcement.
