Intel launched its 10th Gen Core laptop processors last year in two parts- Comet lake and Ice Lake. Now it seems like the company is ready to unwrap its 11th Gen CPUs.
Intel mailed out today, carrying the date messages to press representatives, promising a virtual event to show “how Intel is pushing the limits of how we work and how we stay linked.”
In the upcoming event, the company will likely to introduce its Tiger Lake processors under Intel 11th Gen branding with a new Xe graphics architecture.
The 11th Gen processor will be based on 10nm+ process, and as per the company, it will deliver “double digit performance gain.” The new Gen processor is expected to compete against AMD Ryzen 4000-series mobile CPUs based on the 7nm process.
Talking about the 11th Gen processor, the company only mentions the mobile CPUs, but there is no information about the 11th Gen Desktop CPUs. However, Intel recently launched its 10th Gen Comet Lake Desktop processors. So it might take time for its 11th Gen Desktop processors. Meanwhile, Acer has already promised to launch its laptops with 11th Gen CPUs in October.
So, it seems like the date of September 2 will be the day, when the company will inform more about the 11th Gen processors.
