For quite some time, Instagram has been testing Reels. It’s just a few days, Instagram launched the new service in India after launching it over 50 countries. The new feature arrived after the ban of TikTok along with 58 other Chinese apps by the Indian Government.
Previously and originally, Reels was integrated within the Story interface of Instagram, but from today, the company added a simple new way to access Reels within the app. You can now access Reels from the app’s lower navigation bar, just beside the home icon.
The main objective of Instagram is to get more audiences using Reels as an alternative for TikTok. With this new way to access the Reels, if you click on the Reels icon below, it will show you a random Reels clip starts automatically in the app. You can also swipe up and down to toggle around different videos, and the interface is almost similar to TikTok.
Previously, in the Reels integrated with the Story, you can only create your own Reels clip and share it, but in the new way to access the Reels, you can actually create your own and see other Reels in one place.
For now, the feature is not available for everyone. I got the new Reels tab in the latest version of the app, but it will soon be available for everyone. Let us know your views on the new Reels tab update in the comment section.
