Instagram has finally spread its new TikTok alike tool Reels globally. The new feature is now live in over 50 countries counting Japan, Australia, the US, and the UK. For the record, this feature first came in an appearance when Instagram started testing it in Brazil last November. Additionally, after six months, the company moved this feature to France and Germany. In India, it arrived after the ban of TikTok.
In an official blog post, Instagram said,
“Reels gives people new ways to express themselves, discover more of what they love on Instagram, and help anyone with the ambition of becoming a creator take center stage.”
Those who don’t know what Reels is, it is a new feature from Instagram that lets you create and share 15-second clips on Instagram. Moreover, there is also a dedicated Explore section, where you can see new Reels created by other users.
Reels offers elegant functionalities, which include the ability to search and add a song from the Instagram Music library. You can also use AR effects, countdown timers, the choice to align previous clips and change the audio or video’s speed. Also, if you are using a private Instagram account, only your followers will be able to see the clip. It will not get shared with the explore section.
