Huawei to launch P40 globally – What’s the future for Huawei in 2020?

Huawei to launch P40 globally next year.

Huawei is planning to launch its latest and better successor of the P30 and P30 Pro smartphones, which will be called P40 and P40 Pro (Obvio), but here’s a catch, they are planning to launch it Globally!

There has been a TRADE BAN on Huawei in the United States of America. Google has cut off Huawei phones from its future android updates, which means that now, these phones can not have Google Play Services in them. It’s not an issue in China because people there don’t use Google or anything even remotely related to it, but globally in the US, the Mate 30 series of Huawei was not launched because of this Trade Ban.

But currently, there is a deadline for the company before the ban starts to take its effect. But after the initial formal public statement, Huawei and its subsidiaries were quickly allowed permits to continue work in the US, and after one 90-day delay ended in August, Wilbur Ross, Commerce Secretary granted another, giving rural wireless carriers that rely on Huawei products time to change their equipment.

The delay was set to end this week, but according to sources, the US will grant another extension, so the ban is now set to take effect after February 16th, 2020.

Now, for launching the P40 and P40 Pro in the US they need to have a new GMS license where GMS stands for Google Mobile Services, Huawei will not need a new license for the P40 series if the hardware of these phones is similar to the P30 ones. With the help of this, Huawei launched its Honor P Smart Z with GMS by rebranding it to Honor 9X. As this device was debuted before the ban was imposed on Huawei, they just changed a few external things and launched the new 9X with google mobile services.

Huawei can keep this plan in mind while launching its P40 and P40 Pro globally in the United States if the ban is still effective and imposed. They don’t have to get a completely new GMS license for their latest series if they just keep the hardware same as the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, but it is highly unlikely that they will use this strategy as the successors of this phones will be more high-end with a great price to performance ratio.

If they want to up their game and standards from the P30 series, they certainly have to perfect this one, and for what we’ve seen from them so far, they are not lagging behind on this. This sums up that Huwaei is going to get a new Google Mobile Services license for the P40 series.
