Recently Huawei has posted a teaser of their upcoming flagship smartphone lineup i.e., the Huawei P40 series on Weibo, which is a Chinese Micro-Blogging platform. Talking about this teaser in-depth, it consists of what appears to be the standard Huawei P40, and the main highlight of this smartphone was its curved display.
Talking about the configurations, the Huawei P40 is expected to come with a 6.57-inch 2K curved OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. For the processor, we can expect to see the Kirin 990 SoC with 5G connectivity because of a Balong 5000 5G modem integrated with this device. Talking about the battery, the smartphone is supposed to pack a 5,500mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging that can fully charge the device from 0 to 100% in 45 minutes.
Apart from the display, the camera setup on this smartphone will also be an important upgrade from the previous generations, and for stating the obvious, the company is frequently using the hashtag “VisionaryPhotography” for marketing terms.
The P40 is rumored to feature a Penta-camera set up in a rectangular cutout comprising of a 52 Megapixel Sony “Quad Bayer” custom-made sensor, a 20 Megapixel Ultra-wide sensor, a 12 Megapixel (Periscope) telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom, a macro camera, and a 3D ToF sensor.
The Huawei P40 series is tipped to be equipped with HarmonyOS with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) as the trade ban that exempts Huawei from using Google Play Services (GPS) is still active.
Well, one more leak about the P40 series has surfaced on the internet, and a reputable leakster, Evan Blass tweeted it. Evan put up an image that showed 12 smartphones from the P40 series, their various colors, and models. Looking closely, you will see four Huawei P40 Pro on the left, followed by a P40 Pro Premium Edition, a regular P40 Pro, four P40, a P40 Pro Premium Edition, and a P40. The seven color variants in question are Black, Blue (could be called Aurora), Gold, Grey, Breathing Crystal, Silver, and Pearl White.
Huawei was supposed to have a physical event in Paris, France on March 26th for making the announcements, but due to the Corona Virus outbreak, the event has been canceled and will be held online on the same date.
