For those of you who are living under a rock, Valve Softwares has announced that their legendary game of all time i.e. Half-Life is returning! Now the latest version is called Half Life Alyx, and it will be playable only with a VR Headset, and because of the hardware limitations, some players are hesitating to purchase the game. To them, this seems like an upgrade that they don’t know much about.
Tested is here to save the day, a youtube channel created by Adam Savage has uploaded a video in which they have explained the functioning of Half Life Alyx on every big PC VR Headset. There are various options to choose from, and in this video, they have picked Oculus Rift S, the Quest, HTC Vive Cosmos, the first-generation Vive, and Valve’s very own Index.
In the presence of the Tested Founders i.e Norman and Smith Chan, there were a few hours of Half Life Alyx and its functioning that includes using gravity gloves for interacting with objects within the game, walking, and reloading weapons.
Talking about the best controller among the various ones was Valve Softwares very-own Index. There are no surprises in this as these controllers are specially made for the game and are far better in quality and have far more features than the other ones.
One more interesting feature which the Index controllers will provide is the pickup and throw function, which means you can pick something up using the gloves and then release your grip it will result in throwing off that object. As the controllers are strapped to your wrists, there is no chance of dropping it.
These features will be a demand for any gamer as the Index VR Headset by Valve is not cheap. A full set-up with high-end construction will cost you almost $1,000.
