Google launches the Pixel 4 series starting at $799

After lots of leaks and rumors, finally, Google launches Pixel 4, and Pixel 4XL in made by Google launch event held in New York a few hours ago. Now let’s see the specs of the most awaited phone of the year made by Google.

Design and Display

Pixel 4 features a full 5.7-inch FHD+ flexible OLED display at 444 PPI with up to 90Hz refresh rate and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen delivers a 100,000:1 super contrast ratio and Full 24-bit depth or 16.77 million colors. Moreover, the display supports HDR with UHDA certification and Ambient EQ. 

Whereas Pixel 4Xl display features are almost the same except a full 6.3-inch QHD+ flexible OLED display at 537 PPI.

The design of both the phones is the same, and the material used in both the phones is an Aluminum frame with a matte hybrid coating. Google used a corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the sides of each phone with IP68 dust and water protection.

The dimensions of Pixel 4 are 68.8×147.1×8.2 mm and weighs about 162 g, whereas dimensions of 4XL are 75.1×160.4×8.2 mm and weigh about 193 g.

Available colors of both the phones are- Just Black, Clearly White, and Oh So Orange.

Performance

Pixel 4 series sports a powerful Snapdragon 855 chipset

Both the Pixel 4 and 4Xl sports a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 855 chipset powered by Qualcomm with Adreno 640 GPU combined with up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Both the phones have Pixel Neural Core, which is still unknown, but it could be the new name for the Pixel Visual Core includes in Pixel 3. It is an imaging chip for the excellent low-light camera.

Battery

Pixel 4 carries a 2800mAh battery, whereas 4XL carries a 3700 mAh battery, and both phones support 18W fast charging. The company provides an 18W/2 A USB Type-C charger, and both the phones have Qi-certified wireless charging support.

Camera

Pixel 4 series- dual-camera module

Now coming to the most highlighted feature of Pixel phones the camera. Well, the tech giant company equips the Pixel 4 Series with dual-camera on a square-like module at the back.

The dual-camera module includes a 16MP primary camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 52-degree field of view. The primary camera has features like Autofocus with phase detection, OIS+EIS, and Spectral+flicker sensor. The secondary camera includes a 12.2MP lens with an f/1.7 aperture and a 77-degree FOV. The secondary camera has abilities like Autofocus with dual pixel phase detection and OIS+EIS.

Pixel 4 series- front camera with NIR

In front of the Pixel 4 Series, the company used an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture and 90-degree FOV. The front camera module includes 2 NIR cameras for the effective face unlock. The front camera has abilities like fixed focus, NIR flood emitter, and NIR dot projector.

The Rear camera of both the phones can record up to 4K video at 30 FPS, 1080p video at 30/60/120 FPS and, 720p video at 240 FPS, whereas the front camera can record a 1080p video at 30FPS.

Network and Connectivity

Both the Pixel phones deliver up to 1.2 Gbps download speed with CAT 18 and delivers 150 Mbps upload speed with CAT 13. Moreover, both the phones support eSIM.

Coming to connections, both the phones have Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHz with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and 2×2 MIMO. Other features are Bluetooth 5.0, LE(HD codecs: AptX, AptX HD, LDAC), NFC, Google cast, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo.

Motion Sense

With Motion Sense, you can now control your phone in a new way.

Quick Gestures uses radar to sense motion, helping you control your Pixel 4 when you’re running on the treadmill or enjoying your favorite tacos–without touching your phone.

With Quick Gestures, a wave of the hand above the screen allows you to skip songs and navigate your music.

Quick Gestures also lets you snooze alarms and silence phone calls, just by waving your hand above the screen.

Moreover, with the Motion Sense, it securely unlocks your phone by simply a look, makes payments, and gets into the app in a flash.

According to the company, Motion Sense is functional in the US, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, and most European countries.
