Finally, Google app and Assistant is getting dark mode theme on both Android and iOS. Google Search from their Twitter handle has tweeted that the dark theme for the app is officially rolling out.

In the tweet, the Mountain View company specifically mentioned that the dark mode for the app is available on Android 10, iOS 12, and iOS 13. And it will automatically be applied to your app if your system theme is already set to dark.

As the company mentioned that the theme is only available on Android 10 but for some users running previous Android versions are also able to get the dark theme through in-app settings, 9to5 Google reports. These users on opening their app settings get an option to choose their theme preference.

Moreover, these changes are on the server-side, so you don’t need to update the app. This theme option has already started rolling out and will hit your device soon. As and when this rollout reaches your device, a “Dark Theme is available” pop-up will appear linking to the in-app settings where you can select the theme according to your preference.
