After launching the original Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung is now working on the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 which will be the next-gen model of the original Galaxy Fold. Codenamed ‘Champ’, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 has been rumored to be the first smartphone by the company that will feature a camera under the display.
According to a news report by South Korean Media, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will have the under-display camera technology. The Korean Smartphone Manufacturer is reportedly working on this tech for a long time as this new piece of technology will help the company to provide a more seamless display experience without having any kind of notch on the display.
Well, this technology is not a brand-new concept, major companies like Xiaomi, Honor, OPPO, and OnePlus are expected to launch their future smartphones with this technology in the near future. Till now, Xiaomi and OPPO have already demonstrated this camera technology but not Samsung.
Samsung has always been a game-changer when it comes to displays in smartphones. The company never changes its display configurations dynamically like other companies. For example, when every smartphone manufacturer was using higher refresh rate displays in their smartphones, Samsung was the only company that did not give in to the hype and stuck with their 60Hz AMOLED displays.
Frankly speaking, that 60Hz AMOLED display of Samsung is still better in color shifting, viewing angles, and color accuracy if compared to the higher 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate displays. The company only started giving high refresh rate displays with the S20 series as they finally figured out a way to use the higher refresh rate without compromising with the display quality.
Similarly, unlike Xiaomi and OPPO, Samsung will launch this under-display technology with the Galaxy Fold 2 once it gets efficient in everyday use.
