After launching a dating feature a while back, Facebook has now launched a messaging app specifically designed for couples this time. The app was created by the New Product Experimentation (NPE) team within the company and is known as Tuned. Facebook made this team last year to commence little projects just like this one. Also, the NPE team is smart enough to drop a product if it doesn’t generate hype or doesn’t receive any positive feedback.
Talking about the app, Tuned is a messaging app designed for couples that allows you to send texts and voice messages to each other. Apart from the text and voice messages, people can also send love notes, photos, cards, songs, and voice memos. This app also gets connected to Spotify for music sharing. You can also use custom stickers and reactions to express your feelings in the chats.
According to the NPE team,
Tuned is a private space where you and your significant other can just be yourselves. With Tuned, you can be as mushy, quirky, and silly as you are together in person, even when you’re apart. Creatively express your love, share your mood, exchange music, and build a digital scrapbook of your special moments.
The NPE team has also designed a meme-making app (Whale) as well as one identical to the Pinterest app (Hobbi). Still, Facebook has not given any promotional push to these two apps, meaning that the Tuned app won’t be getting any promotion either.
People who are stuck in lockdown due to the global pandemic Coronavirus can use this app to bond with other peoples and cure their boredom. It’s free to use and is currently available on the App Store for iOS devices. Nonetheless, the app is only available in the US and Canada. There is no word from the developers about if there will be an android version or not. So if you are from the US or Canada, enjoy using the app!
