After wrapping the Fortnite World Cup in New York last week, the battle royale hit the Season X with details released about the Fortnite Championship Series.[wpinsertshortcodead id=”bzyqm5d3e04029f48f”]
Epic Games will be hosting the series starting on August 17th. It will be an online tournament circuit that is generally designed to replace the season model. The Fortnite Championship Series will be an in-game tournament and will have a consistent leaderboard where gamers can track their development towards ending up being the Seasonal Champion in each of the server areas. The mode for this inaugural Fortnite Champion Series will be Trios.
The series will take place over the five weeks, and teams will fight for the dedicated prize pools and to qualify for the Season X Championship on each Saturday and Sunday. Then the teams who will be in the top of the leaderboard in each server regions will face off for the Season X Champions crown on September 20, 21, and 22. Epic didn’t mention the amount of prize pool, but it says that each event will have an independent prize pool.[wpinsertshortcodead id=”zxikm5d3e04a8f1451″]
Epic also hinted about the future Fortnite tournament- Fortnite Spotlight. Epic says :
