Covid-19 pandemic has changed our lives a lot. We have been super cautious about what we touch or who meet these days. In response to this, Borosil has launched its UV-C disinfection device box called Suraksha (security), which destroys up to 99.9% germs, and other pathogens present on any surface with the help of ultraviolet–C light. It is easy to operate and portable enough to be kept on a kitchen countertop or any tabletop.
The Disinfection box comes with a capacity of 22 liters and can be used to disinfect groceries and some other daily use objects. Apart from that, it can also sterilize objects such as masks, mobile phones, wallets, medical equipment, currency notes, watches, etc. Moreover, it also helps in minimizing the risks of contagious diseases which spread from daily essentials.
How does it work? According to Borosil, the UV-C light produces electromagnetic energy and impacts the DNA of microorganisms like viruses, destroying their ability to reproduce and thus make them inactive. Furthermore, they also added that the box comes with a leakage-proof design that keeps the UV-C rays in the chamber.
“The unit shuts off automatically on opening, thus further reducing the chances of exposure to the human body. Research has proven that exposure to UV-C light has a positive impact on fruits, vegetables, and other food products,” said Borosil.
As for the pricing, the Borosil Suraksha UV Disinfection Box comes with a price tag of Rs. 11,990, but you can pre-order it on the official website for Rs. 9,999. Also, make sure you don’t keep your N95 masks inside the box for more than 2 minutes, or it could lose its filtering efficiency.
