Black Shark 3 and Black shark 3 Pro launched

So finally, the Xiaomi-backed gaming phone maker, Black Shark, has unveiled two of the most awaited gaming smartphones today, which are – the Black Shark 3 and the Black Shark 3 Pro. Both the smartphones were revealed today at an event in China. They both have a 90Hz refresh rate display, triple-rear cameras, Snapdragon 865 chipset, 65W super-fast charging, and a host of gaming-adaptive features.

Black Shark 3 Configurations

Black Shark 3

The design of the Black Shark 3 has been built upon its existing design DNA in order to offer a more symmetrical rear panel for comfortable gaming sessions. The company claims that they have got the most unique camera design, but as they say, no gaming phone should exist without RGB lighting. The Black Shark logo on the rear panel is RGB-lit. You also get the 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and the USB Type-C port at the bottom.

The display of the Black Shark 3 is a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. If you don’t know, this is the first Black Shark smartphone to have a higher refresh rate. The screen is pressure-sensitive and supports a 270Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, JNCD < 0.55, and Delta E < 1. The in-display fingerprint scanner is on the front.

The camera setup on the device is a triple-camera setup that includes a 64MP primary camera, a 13MP Ultra-wide angle camera with 120-degree FOV, and a 5MP depth sensor. The front is a 20MP selfie camera placed in the top bezel at the front panel.

Speaking about the internals, the Black Shark 3 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 onboard storage along with with with HPB and TurboWrite technology for faster data transfer speeds. The smartphone has support for 5G connectivity and also WiFi 6, so you can use both technologies to boost your download speed.

The Black Shark 3 sports a 4,720mAh battery pack, which is split into two halves. But, the main highlight of this smartphone is the new magnetic charger that attaches itself to the back of the device so that the gamers can get a comfortable grip of the smartphone and can continue to play games while charging their smartphone. The standard 65W charger charges the smartphone up to 60% battery in just 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the magnetic charger supports 18W fast-charging, which is also not bad.

The heat dissipation on the Black Shark 3 has been done really skillfully. They have designed the PCB in such a way that the heat does not concentrate together in one place, it gets distributed across the board. The board is then sandwiched between the liquid cooling system of the Black Shark 3. The smartphone now has copper pipes on either side of the PCB on the inside that increases the heat dissipation area by 100% and heat capacity by 50%.

Also, this is conceivably the first gaming smartphone to have a hardware MEMC chip to insert frames in low-frame rate content to give users a true 90Hz feel while using the device. The Black Shark 3 runs on the Android-10 based JoyUI out of the box.

This means that you also have a pressure-sensitive screen, a 270Hz touch sampling rate, and a dedicate MEMC chip, and more on the Black Shark 3 Pro variant.

The camera setup on the Black Shark 3 Pro is similar to the non-pro variant. This means it also has a triple camera setup that includes a 64MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120-degree FOV, and a 5MP depth sensor. The front is a 20MP selfie camera, also similar to the non-pro variant.
