Asus Rog launched a couple of new gaming laptops to go along with the newly introduced Ryzen 4000 series mobile processors launched by AMD. They are powered by RTX graphics for a seamless gaming experience. The Zephyrus G14 and G15 are packed with H-series Ryzen processors.
These laptops have up to 32 GB DDR4 Ram clocked at 3200MHz and 1 TB of storage. There is no choice for Intel processors, but you can configure them up to an AMD Ryzen 7 4800 HS. It can also be configured to an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU.
The Zephyrus G14 is powered by AMD Ryzen 7 4800 HS,32 gigs of ram, and 1 TB SSD storage. For graphics, it is going to have an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU with 6 GB of VRAM. It has a 14-inch display in which you can choose from WQHD or Full HD. You can achieve either a 60Hz or 120Hz refresh rate In Full HD. In WQHD, the refresh rate stays at 60Hz.
Due to the presence of Adaptive sync, you can minimize issues like screen tearing and have a smooth gaming experience.
The design of the Zephyrus G14 is really splendid. Half of the laptop is covered in an LED matrix. According to Asus, they named this design AniMe display. People who will buy this laptop can use effects that change with the music, play gifs, choose brightness from 256 levels, show off custom graphics as much as they want due to the presence of 1212 mini LEDs.
It is the first ROG laptop to utilize the ASUS’ ErgoLift hinge. When you open the lid, it tilts the keyboard. This helps you to type comfortably and draws more air into the fans to keep the device cooler. The Zephyrus G14 dissipates heat quickly from the rear exhaust due to the cuts present on the hinge of the bottom bezel. Asus also used 17.9mm thick fan blades in order to increase the airflow in the compact 14-inch chassis.
If we talk about the battery life of G14, it promises more than 10 hours of battery life on one charge. You can also charge it with a 180W power adapter included. If you are not using any GPU, you can charge it through USB type C up to 65W. Instead of three, it has two USB Type-A ports
The Zephyrus G15 is also powered by AMD Ryzen 7 4800 HS,32 gigs of ram, and 1 TB SSD storage. For graphics, you can either have an Nvidia RTX 2060 or a GTX 1660 Ti with 6GB of VRAM. It has 15.6 inches Full HD IPS display and a refresh rate of both 144Hz or 240 Hz due to the presence of Adaptive sync.
If you are a creator, you will be delighted with the color accuracy as the display is Pantone Validated. The display is fully covered by the sRGB color space. The sound quality of the G15 is thunderous and crystal clear. It has two front-firing speakers which promise contortion-free sound at high volumes due to Smart Amp technology. It has Hi-Res Audio certification, which can also offer virtual 7.1 channel surround sound.
It has ROG n-Blade Fans that promise 17% more airflow as compared to older designs. The thermal system is designed in a way that it catches and expels dust that might affect the cooling performance of the system.
It has a 76Wh battery, which is pretty low as the performance this laptop gives requires more battery life. It has a 180W charger, also supports charging through USB Type-C at 65W. The G15 has one USB Type-C port, USB 3.2 Gen 2 port with DisplayPort 1.4 and three USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, an Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0b, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and power delivery.
The pricing for these two variants is not official yet, but we will be able to buy them in the first quarter of 2020.
