Asus has launched its new gaming monitor today alongside ROG phone 3, known as ROG Strix XG16. Just like the ROG 3, it also comes with a 144Hz refresh rate and some intriguing features. The company patters this monitor as a companion for all your mobile gaming needs. So, without wasting any more time, let’s talk about the configuration of this gaming monitor.
Let’s start with the display first. The ROG Strix XG16 comes with a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS panel along with 144Hz refresh rate support. It also supports Adaptive-Sync that helps in eliminating stuttering, tearing, and judder.
In terms of audio, the ROG Strix XG16 features a couple of front-firing speakers for a mesmerizing experience. Furthermore, it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack with an embedded ESS DAC and a micro-HDMI port. So, you will be able to connect this monitor to your PC and use it as a secondary screen. Additionally, you can also use the Type-C port to connect your game consoles like Nintendo Switch.
For portability, Asus has added a kickstand to this gaming monitor, which allows it to be propped up on a table or any flat surface. Additionally, it supports multiple angles of adjustments in both portrait and landscape mode.
Under the hood, the ROG Strix XG16 sports a 7800mAh battery, which, according to Asus, is capable of powering the monitor for up to three hours. Moreover, you can also connect your smartphone by a USB Type-C cable to charge your smartphone from the monitor. However, this is only applicable if you have connected the device through the micro-HDMI port.
Price and Availability
Asus has not revealed the pricing of this gaming monitor yet. However, it will be available for purchase in December this year. Additionally, the company is also selling an Asus ROG Tripod stand along with the gaming monitor.
