Design and Display
The Asus ROG Phone 3 has a similar design as its predecessor. There are slimmer bezels on the top and bottom with a selfie camera at the top right corner.
The rear panel design also carries the same lines and angular camera module and the heat vents for the overall gaming smartphone look. The rear panel has a triple camera module, an RGB-lit ROG brand logo, and the panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The phone weighs around 240 grams.
The phone features a 6.59-inches FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate/ 1ms response time and a 270Hz touch sampling rate. The display supports an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, DCI-P3 wide color gamut, Delta-E<1, 10-bit HDR10+, up to 1000nits of peak brightness, and has a TUV Rheinland certification against harmful UV protection.

For the superior gaming experience, the ROG Phone 3 features a 3rd Gen GameCool system, including 6X larger heat sinks, Copper 3D Vapour Chamber, and large Graphite Cooling Pads. The GameCool System will keep the temperature in check and unleash stable gaming experience.
The Taiwanese giant is developing new motion tracking gestures on existing ultrasonic shoulder buttons. Besides the usual functionality of the Air Triggers, ROG Phone 2 has added tap and slide gestures. However, you can do a lot more with the ROG Phone 3 since it now also supports “swiping” and “dual partition” functions.
As the name suggests, the swiping feature lets you swipe right or left on-Air Trigger to perform two additional actions. It means you now have five Air Triggers touch-inputs. If this isn’t your tea cup, you can break the Air Trigger length into two (virtually) and get four buttons at the top when playing in landscape mode.
In ROG Phone 3 there is an optional accessory- AeroActicve Cooler 3, which further reduces the phone temperature by 4-degree Celcius.
The Triple camera setup includes a 64MP SONY IMX686 primary sensor with aperture f/1.8, a 13MP ultra-wide lens with an aperture of f/2.5 and FOV 125-degree, and lastly a 5MP macro lens.

Moreover, the company also provides an additional side-mounted USB Type-C to connect accessories or charge while gaming in landscape mode.
