Apple releases the first public beta of macOS Big Sur

Apple has announced the macOS Big Sur In June, and the general public beta is expected to be available in July. However, it is now available for users to install. If you’ve been waiting on your devices to try out the new macOS, you can do that now without spending $99 on a developer account.

After installing the proper profile, beta testers who signed up for Apple’s beta testing program can download the macOS Big Sur beta via the System Preferences Software Update mechanism.

Mac users who want to be part of Apple ‘s beta testing program can sign up to join the beta website, which provides users with access to iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS betas.

Commonly, public betas are more stable than developer betas. But installing them on your primary device is still not recommended. Betas may have bugs and often critical problems that could force you to uninstall your Mac and start from scratch. So, a full backup is recommended before installing the macOS Big Sur on your device.

The new macOS Big Sur brings a redesigned operating system, interactive notification center with revamped widgets, the new Safari browser with the customizable start page, built-in translation, and more. To know more about the macOS Big Sur, click here.
