Apple announces 8th Gen iPad with A12 Bionic chipset starting at $329

Yesterday, Apple announced its new 8th Gen iPad at Apple’s Time Flies event. The new 8th Gen iPad may look similar to its predecessor, but packed with internal improvements.

The new 8th Gen iPad features a 10.2-inch Retina display with IPS technology with a pixel resolution of 2160 x 1620. The display supports 500 nits of brightness and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The new 8th gen iPad’s improvement is the new A12 Bionic chipset under the hood, which has a six-core CPU and four-core GPU to deliver 40-percent faster CPU performance and offers a 2X GPU boost if compared with 7th Gen iPad. This makes the current iPad up to two times faster than the best-selling Windows laptop, up to three times faster than the top-selling Android phone, and up to six times faster than the top-selling Chromebook.

For the first time, the company introduces the Neural Engine to its A12 Bionic chipset for the next level machine learning, Augmented reality, improved photo editing, Siri performance, and more.

The new 8th Gen iPad supports Apple Pencil and keyboard, but only the 1st Gen Apple Pencil and Keyboard.
