Recently, the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) has published an Apple patent application that includes a display in curved design made up of glass and according to the sources, it could be the iMac new design. The main highlight of this design is that it unifies the computer components and the display in a single structure.
iMacs have always been the most crucial part of the Apple ecosystem. If you have been following the company for some time, you know that there has been a fresh upgrade of specifications on the newer iMacs by the company. These systems are very useful for your work and they provide a minimum life of 4 to 5 years.
After the enhancement of configurations on iMacs, the only thing that requires a change in the design. Last time when Apple updated the iMac design was June 2017 and after that, it has been 3 years almost. This would be a very suitable time to upgrade the iMac design in our opinion and it looks like Apple was already working on this as a recent patent by the company reveals a new curved design made up of glass!
According to the patent application, this design also features a detachable keyboard and a touchpad as well. You can also dock your MacBook in this display! This design will help the MacBook to portray all of its data theoretically on iMac’s display while the keyboard is normally connected through a port in the middle of the machine.
The separate dock present on the iMac new design can also store the hardware of the machine and also provide you with space for all of your required ports. The wedge present on the back of this design is there for providing stability to the machine and it can also store the processing unit.
Apart from all of this, the iMac new design has a major benefit of portability as you can easily fold up the display from the middle when not in use and save some space. Talking about the patent, it has almost 6 investors including all the important members of the Product Design department like the senior manager of product design at Apple Inc., Product design architecture senior, and director of product design.
It is highly unlikely that we get to see this iMac new design by Apple Inc. anytime soon as the current-gen iMacs have a solid and reliable design on which you can count on and talking about this new design, apart from its increased productivity and portability, it still looks fragile with less permanence because of the material used and its current folding mechanism.
