AMD launched new Threadripper Pro CPUs for Workstations

The American multinational semiconductor company, AMD has announced its new Threadripper Pro processor lineup, today. Moreover, these are Ryzen based CPUs, made for extreme Workstations as well as some of the performance enthusiasts. The new Ryzen Threadripper Pro CPU lineup offers up to 64 cores, which is an improvement. So, without wasting any more time, let’s talk about the Threadripper Pro lineup configurations.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3900WX family initial lineup consists of four variants, which are:

  • 64-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX
  • 32-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX
  • 16-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3955WX
  • 12-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3945WX

First, let’s start with the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX processor. The Threadripper Pro 3995WX comes with up to 64 cores and 128 threads and a base frequency of up to 4.2/2.7GHz. Moreover, it offers up to 2TB ECC UDIMMRDIMM, and LRDIMM memory support. It consumes a TDP of 280 watts.

Second, let’s talk about the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX processor. The Threadripper Pro 3975WX offers up to 32 cores and 64 threads with a base frequency of up to 4.2/3.5GHz. Moreover, it is similar to the Threadripper Pro 3995WX in terms of memory support and TDP. It also consumes a TDP of 280 watts and offers up to 2TB of ECC UDIMMRDIMM, and LRDIMM memory support.

Third, let’s talk about the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3955WX processor. The 3955WX CPU offers up to 16 cores and 32 threads with a base frequency of up to 4.3/3.9GHz. It also consumes a TDP of 280 watts and offers up to 2TB of ECC UDIMMRDIMM, and LRDIMM memory support.

Fourth, let’s talk about the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3945WX processor. The 3945WX CPU offers up to 12 cores and 24 threads with a base frequency of up to 4.3/4.0GHz. Just like the others, it also consumes a TDP of 280 watts and offers up to 2TB of ECC UDIMMRDIMM, and LRDIMM memory support.

Availability

Lenovo will launch the new CPU (Threadripper Pro 3995WX) with its ThinkStation P620 Workstation in partnership with AMD, which will offer extreme performance and extraordinary power levels. Moreover, it will be available for purchase starting in September 2020.
