Qualcomm is going to held Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019 on December 3, where the company will launch its next flagship smartphone processor Snapdragon 865. The company didn’t share any details about the chipset. However, a new leak from a Chinese leakstar Digital Chat Station on Weibo has shared a post revealing the Snapdragon 865 details.
According to the post, processor is going to be an octa-core processor with a 1+3+4 core arrangement similar to its predecessors. The CPU arrangement will be having 1 Cortex-A77 core clocked at 2.84GHz, 3 Cortex-A77 cores at 2.42GHz, and 4 Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz. For the GPU, it will have 587 Adreno 650, which is higher than Adreno 640 present in Snapdragon 855+ and 855.
In terms of performance, the chipset will be 20% faster than its SD 855 as Cortex-A77 delivers a 20% improved performance when compared to Cortex-A76. There is no change in power efficiency Cortex-A55 cores, and the Adreno 650 GPU is also expected 17% to 20% faster.
Moreover, there were reports that the chipset will come in two variants Kona and Huracan. Both will support LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.0. One of which will come with Snapdragon X55 modem (5G). It is also expected that the Snapdragon 865 will first feature in Samsung Galaxy S11 series.
